We are in the season now where we are spending more time in the gardens and making the exterior of our homes look bright and fresh after a long dreary winter. Coming up with a floral color scheme can be overwhelming especially with so many beautiful options blooming at your local garden center. Here is a guide to help you stick to a color theme that best compliments the exterior of your house!

When building out your planters you'll need spillers (plants that spill over the edge) , fillers (Plant that fills in the base and sparse spots), and thrillers (Plant that add height and that wow factor).

This year I used Creeping Jenny and Alyssum for my spillers, Diamond Frost for my fillers, and SnapDragons for my fillers. I stuck with a cream and green theme for our light bluish gray cottage and it adds to the level of New England charm.
